WHEN GOD DOES NOT LOOK AT YOU...

When we make a mistake and when we fall like a thousand times, what do you think God is doing? I grew up thinking that God is a moral police. He picks on every wrong decision, every fall into sin, and every mistake. I always imagine God’s frustrated eyes looking at me with my mistakes and shortcomings. Every sermon at church sounded like "you did it wrong, do it this way; you are a failure because you did not do it right."
Many times, we think God is frowning at us when we make especially huge mistakes. But, have you ever thought that God is more than a moral police? Have you ever thought that there is a far more beautiful picture of God than being a moral police? Sadly for me, I never have. I lived in that reality of a false God- harsh, bitter, and indifferent. Yes, I think it was a false God because Isaiah prophesied about who the Messiah will be, it is a different description Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And He will be called WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE.” This is Christ, this is His work, this is who He is. David adds this in Psalm 100, “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” You can never see in these statements that God will not be faithful if you sin if you make a mistake. Do you know what it says more in the Bible? It says He will seek you; He will pursue you; He will knock on your door-giving up on a sinner like you and me is not the language of God.
In the works of our wonderful God, our sins and all kinds of its definitions don’t matter. Do you know that when we sin it is the only time when God does not look at us, why, because He looks at His grace? God’s grace covers our every sin when we go to God just as we are. In God’s vision what matters is our desire to do it right, our desire to change and our desire to overcome.
When you go to God it doesn’t matter what we did, what matters is that we finally came and we will finally experience the abundance of His grace. The storehouse of God’s grace will never be empty because of our sins. It will always be full, ready to accept, embrace, and carry the sin-sick soul.
God is not a moral police. He is long-suffering, patient, kind, loving, and true! He never abandons! Friends, please remember God will not look at you with your sins. He will look at you with His grace, in what Jesus Christ already did for you. Who you are now is the very reason why Jesus came to die? Who you are now is the very reason why God came to be with our Emmanuel! Your situation right now is the very reason God gave His only son. A Moral Police, God is not!

Thank you, Ma'am Bethel, for this. This was my morning prayer, and by reading this made my heart felt lighter. God is generous of love and grace and I should not be afraid to come to Him in repentance and prayer if times are troublesome or if I stumble along. Praise the Lord for this ministry ate.

I've been in the same pit for a long time! Praise God for the new heart He has given me!
