Many times when we talk of our skin we wanted it to be blemish free. We want our skin scar free. As I grew older, I came to realize that scars are not what define ugliness. A flawless skin also does not define true beauty. Scars are there because we make twists and turns in this life that sometimes bring us deep wounds, light scratches, or just bruises.

We always have endeavored to make our paths straight but many times we make mistakes. Sometimes we learn from our mistakes and sometimes we don't and we repeat them again and again. It is so easy to look at ourselves with condemnation because of the scars that represent our mishaps, mistakes, and failures. It is also so easy to judge others because of their scars.

Society has placed us in a box that defines us with our mistakes and our scars. Until, I knew GRACE, and I met JESUS, who bore the biggest and largest scars. His scars were not because He made a mistake, His scars were there because He loved, He cared, and He forgave you and me.

Today, I look at my scars not in the memory of my past mistakes but in the memory of those thorns on His head and nails on His hands to pay for my little scars. My scars are paid for. My scars are covered by Jesus' blemish-free blood. My scars define the ultimate promise that no matter how I fall and make mistakes I have my Jesus WHO WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON ME.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed. -Isaiah 53:5
