Psalm 36:8 "They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.”
God does not remove the storms of our lives, but He is our 'refuge' so that we do not fall down in the storms of life.
A 'shelter' is a place covered by God, a place where we meet and talk with God.
God's shelter is a place full of God's love, grace, healing, and mercy, where we are healed in body and soul.
And when we are led to accept God's Word and it seizes us, God takes up residence in our hearts and controls our thoughts, ideas, and actions.
This allows us to see reality not through the filter of worldly thoughts and values that cling to our minds, but through God's thoughts, so that even in the midst of our stormy lives, God is always taking care of us, and He is watching over us with His eyes, hands and heart. He leads us to notice each and every one of them.
When we realise this, we are moved to the point of bursting with wonder and joy, and we are led to rejoice and praise God in the midst of the storm.
God enters into our lives and becomes a source of spiritual power, and His influence overflows through our words and actions, leading us to give hope and zeal, power and purity, holiness and peace, joy without sorrow, to those within our sphere of influence.
This is what happens when the Saviour dwells within.
Our Saviour waits at the door of our heart.
All we have to do is open the door and God will enter our hearts!
