Luke 7:44 "Can you not see him? When I entered your house, you did not even give me water to wash my feet, but this man wet my feet with his tears and swept my feet with his hair."
How do we see this scene? The Pharisees felt a fierce condemnation for the use of so much perfumed oil during the meal, for the sinner woman suddenly coming to Jesus' side and beginning to wash his feet and for Jesus' acceptance of it.
What's with her? Was she prepared to be condemned by the Pharisees again? Instead of fear, she wanted to give the utmost thanks for having met Jesus, and she did all she could.
She did not care about common sense, customs, or appearances of the time. She just wanted to relate to Jesus and do something for Him.
She experienced that Jesus forgave much, pitied much, and loved much. Before Jesus went to the cross, she also wanted to respond to Jesus' love, and she did just that.
Our actions in response to God's love may also seem impulsive in some ways. Those who are touched by the love of Jesus may act like little children, doing what they want to do with all their might, without thinking about their physical appearance, position, or self-preservation.
The power of God's love is immeasurable!
