Matthew 25:40 I say to you plainly, that what you did to one of the least of these, who is my brother, you did to me. What you did to one of these least of these, my brothers, you did to me."
This is a typical response of the blessed ones who inherit the Kingdom. They are not aware of their acts of kindness and do not expect to be saved by them. So who is the "least of these" to you? Maybe it is someone we don't care about, or maybe it is someone we think we don't like.
God loves, forgives, has mercy on, and wants to reclaim all sinners. And He is still working day and night to make that happen. God is working on each and every one of us, even those we dislike or dismiss as nuisances.
We can be with God now because God has worked in the same way! We may forget that and make a distinction between good and bad sinners. As we continue to be touched by God's love, our stubborn hearts will melt and we will want to accept the different people around us.
In fact, we don't have the capacity to accept everyone. But when we realize this, God surrounds us with love and enables us to love those around us through the power of Jesus. Through the power of Jesus working in us, we can be made to accept people from all walks of life.
I guess this is what it means to live the new life given to us by God. We, who were the least, are touched and filled with God's love, and then we share God's love with the least .... I guess this is the law of God's love and the unconscious response of those who know God's love.
