Luke 14:13,14 When you give a banquet, invite rather the poor, the infirm, the lame, and the blind. Blessed are you, because they will not be able to repay you. When the righteous are resurrected, you will be saved."

The society of this time was one that valued honor and shame. Jesus warned them not to be proud and to give themselves an advantage by demanding something in return from others.

We are all sinners. There are no good or bad sinners. Yet we strive to be as good a sinner as possible. That does not make any sense to God. Instead, God makes us look at those who are more handicapped than we are. It is God Himself who leads us to look to them.

God will always put someone in front of us to whom we can offer some help. We may feel that we can do nothing, but God teaches us to be there for them with Him at such times.

We have been given so much grace from God that we cannot repay. God tells us that we do not need to give back. Instead, He tells us to give what we want to give back to Him to those who are in need of His love. To those who have known the joy of receiving, God wants to give the joy of giving next.

God's love is free and unconditional. Share the joy you experience with someone. All you have to do is lean in. Just smile. The joy will surely be passed on! May your Sabbath be filled with joy!
