Luke 10:37 Then Jesus said, ". Go and do likewise."
A man was robbed and was left half dead. The priests and Levites knew the Word of God and they knew about God. They also kept the Ten Commandments. But they were not living and applying love. They just left the needy dying stranger on the road..
The Samaritan, even though the victim was a despised foreigner, sympathized, patched him up, carried him on his donkey to the inn, cared for him, and paid for his lodging. The Samaritan gave love.
Jesus has been lavishing love on us. He seeks us, accepts us, forgives us, has mercy on us, heals us, restores us, feeds us, clothes us, sacrifices for us, is patient with us, leads us, gives us, fills us, and rejoices with us.
This is God's love. This is God's love that is not of this world. Those who are touched by it will want to do to others as Jesus did to them. Those who have received God's love will want to give. Those who receive God's love want to rejoice. Those who have received God's love want to do as Jesus did.
God's love is a continuous chain. I am sure that you are part of that chain. Today, the Sabbath, may you receive and give God's love in abundance. Shalom!
