Luke 10:36. 'Now, which of these three men do you ..... do you think has become your neighbor?"
The three are the priest, the Levite, and the Samaritan. The priest and the Levite, when encountering a man who was being attacked by his pursuers and was dying, ignored the law of mercy in favor of the law of keeping oneself clean. The Samaritan engaged, helped, and even assisted the victim.
When God restored us, He gave His life on the cross because He placed Himself in the common sense and rules of this world (the requirements of sin), not the common sense of God's world.
God could have saved us in an instant. But God followed the ways of the world and then He got us back. Jesus did not think about protecting Himself, but only about getting us back, and He accepted the cruelest death of the world.
We have been through it and we are here now. Whether we knew Jesus or not, He went to the cross to bring back all of humanity. This brings the fact that the resurrected Jesus is coming for all of us soon!
