John 1:36 Behold, the Lamb of God."

These are the words of John the Baptist. John's disciple, Andrew, after spending only one day with Jesus, became convinced that Jesus was indeed the Messiah and went to find his brother Peter and brought him to Jesus.

Although Andrew was a behind-the-scenes type of person and unimpressive, he brought one person and then another to Jesus. When faced with the challenge of having to feed so many people, it was Andrew who found a young boy with a small amount of food.

God did not create us in one mold to be aggressive preachers like Peter and Paul, but God also created people who are like Andrew who will be comfortable with the dirty work and backstage work. (There are people who are like Peter and Paul, and also like Andrew, one who is a behind-the-scenes person. Not all people are comfortable seen on the stage and in the pulpit and that is perfectly okay. God will use us according to our uniqueness and not make us to be somebody we are not.)

God uses us as valuable people. No matter how small or inconspicuous our work may be, God is aware of it. There are endless ways to witness to God (and all are valid and equal in importance). The simplest and first thing we can all do is to rejoice in our Jesus (it does not have to be a work for any of us). Then, we bring those who have been drawn by that joy to Jesus to our circle of care. However, God will prepare everything we need for that, too.

God is leading us to want to tell people about this wonderful Jesus. The more we get to know Jesus, the more we want to share our excitement and joy! This is our privilege given to us by God no matter what kind of personality we have, reserved or loud!

We are valued not in our contributions to the work of God's kingdom. We are valued by the love God has given us. No matter who we are, we are God's children.
