Mark 2:27 And He further said. 'The Sabbath day was ordained for man. Not that man is for the Sabbath."
The Sabbath, Jesus said, is for us. He made us at creation after He had made everything we need, and then He created a time for us to commune and share with Him. That time is the Sabbath.
Adam and Eve's first day is the Sabbath. They are to experience the completeness and fullness of God's work on their first day.
The Sabbath is planned as a feast of commemoration and restoration, a reminder that we are children of our Creator and Redeemer. The recounting and sharing of who Jesus is and what He has done for us inspires joy, thanksgiving, and praise, and hope in the assurance that He is our Savior. It is not about what we have done.
The Sabbath is simply like a festival in which we all confirm and praise Jesus for what He has done for us and share it with others.
Sabbath is a festival of rejoicing in being with God!
Are you enjoying the Sabbath with Jesus? It is the Sabbath day that Jesus has set aside for us. In reality, it may not be easy to enjoy the Sabbath with Jesus when we look at ourselves and others, but we should at least be able to share a little of our joy with those around us in our thanksgiving of God's goodness every day.
Joy in Jesus won't be hidden away. Joy in Jesus is an explosion!
