Matthew 19:21 "If you want to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give alms to the poor. If you want to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will lay up for yourselves riches in heaven. Then follow me."

This is Jesus' answer to a young man who came to Him and asked, "What good thing must I do to have eternal life?

We, like this young man, have our own sphere of safety. We keep the law and serve to the extent that it is not threatened.

But Jesus invites us to leave all our security behind and depend completely on God for our salvation and life in this world. Jesus wants us to be two-legged with Him. To be complete is to be one with Jesus. Imagine being two-legged or attached to Jesus. Jesus' right foot and our right foot are bound, and we are bound to Jesus' left foot and our left foot. Jesus is in front and we are behind.

To walk with Jesus, to run with Jesus, Jesus' power will not be exerted unless we remove all our strength.

To surrender to Jesus to that extent, we must know who Jesus is to be able to surrender to Him.

Jesus is the One who made the promises to us and risked His life to keep those promises. He is the one who will never abandon us.

Why don't we run with Jesus, to start an attached two-legged journey? When we entrust ourselves to be two-legged with Jesus, we will realize how light and comfortable it is to be one with Him, and we will surely not be able to stop.

Jesus is always extending His feet to be tied to yours, would you like to try, just Jesus and you?
