Mark 11:15. "Jesus entered the precincts of the temple and began to drive out the people who were selling and buying there, overturning the tables of the money changers and the stools of those selling doves."
This was the only violent demonstration in Jesus' public life.
Jesus could not stand that a place that God had designed to express His grace and welcome repentant people had become a blasphemous, self-centered, dishonest, commercial, and prideful institution.
The ultimate desecration was an empty, self-congratulatory, hypocritical religious institution masquerading as piety.
Jesus could not bear to see the weak people who come to worship Him with sincere faith always being oppressed.
Jesus is our shepherd. He protects us at the cost of our lives. He protects His sheep who know Him from everything and in every situation. Jesus knows all our weaknesses.
No matter what is going on around us, no matter what our circumstances are, we can go to Jesus with confidence. Because Jesus has already won the world!
