Luke 7:48,50 "And Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven... Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
We want to be told like this, don't we? However, we have already been told this!
"Your sins" is talking about being "separated from God." This is sin! Our deeds and character are not the sin, they are only forms of the effects of sin, the fruit of the working of sin in our hearts.
And "sins are forgiven" means that because we turned to God and believed and accepted that Jesus died on the cross for us, Jesus took and carried the entire burden of our sins and freed us from the effects of sin.
We did not have our sins magically erased. "Your faith" is not our faith, but the faith that we have believed in and accepted Jesus. It never came from within us. IT IS A GIFT FROM GOD THROUGH THE WORKING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!
We are saved not because of our good works or efforts, but only because Jesus paid the price for our sins.
And we are already forgiven and saved!
We need the patience of waiting for Jesus to come for us, but we don't wait to be saved, we wait because we are saved!
The woman who anointed Jesus' feet with perfume did not do it to be saved, but out of joy and gratitude for being saved!
The Lord clearly declared it, "YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN, YOUR FAITH HAS SAVED YOU. GO IN PEACE" Let us also explode with the joy of our salvation and deliverance today~
