Matthew 20:14 'I want to pay this last one the same as you."

These are the words of the master in response to the complaint of a man who had worked longer hours.

We feel superior by comparing ourselves with others and try to preserve ourselves by it, but this is no stable peace and we must always be in a fighting stance.

God's fairness is different from the fairness of the world.

God's mathematics is based on grace, not fairness.

God frees us from such battles and gives us the freedom to be and do as we are. That is God's grace.

We are taken by God from a world of comparison to a world where we rejoice together in grace.

None of us deserves salvation. Grace is given to those who do not deserve it.

Our lives surely overflow with the joy of being saved by grace!
