John 8:7 'He who has not sinned among you, let him first throw a stone at this woman.'
For the Jews of that time, idolatry, murder, and adultery were three serious crimes, and felons deserved to be stoned to death, but Jesus said this.
In Jesus' eyes, we are all sinners.
There is no size of sin. Sin means separation from God.
Each of the grave sins for the Jews was a visible result of their separation from God, and God sees the root of sin more (than the outward behavioral manifestations of it.)
But don't we feel guilty about each and every one of the effects of our sins and try our best to somehow balance the books with good deeds? From God's point of view, such things are meaningless.
Rather, He invites us to come back to Him. God is not trying to punish us for our sins, but to carry the burden of our sins.
When we are touched by such extraordinary love of God, we want to turn around and run and jump to Him.
God knows everything about each of us. God is waiting to embrace you as you are, weak, dirty, and just as you are.
The time to turn around is now.
