Luke 2:10 "The angel said.Do not be afraid.I announce to you the great joy that will be given to the whole people."
The birth of Jesus is a "great joy! In Genesis 3, God's children are kidnapped, but are immediately promised a Savior. He will ransom them and reunite them with their Father. Then it was time for that Savior to be born. God has faithfully fulfilled what He promised in Genesis.
The God we believe in is not a promise breaker. He is the one who will come to retrieve us and pick us up. The Greek word "good news" was used to tell that a ruler had won a victory on the battlefield. The birth of Jesus announced great joy as good news, a declaration of victory.
No matter what we encounter in life, the joy of knowing that our salvation through Jesus' sacrifice is real outweighs all the sorrow and pain we encounter in this life.
When we choose faith over fear, immense joy overpowers immense fear!
Let us rejoice greatly in the fact that Jesus was born on earth!
