Luke 2:8,9 "And there were shepherds in the region, camping out in the field, keeping watch over their flocks all night long. Then an angel of the Lord approached them."
God chose shepherds as His voice to spread the gospel.
In the first century, there were two groups of people who could not be witnesses in court because of their low social status. They were women and shepherds.
God has always revealed Himself to marginalized people. God has not changed in this day and age. God has always seen the bottom line and called out to us.
The shepherds found the voice that was given to them.
The shepherds were able to find the voice of the angels because they knew that there were things that were beyond their control because they were dealing with animals and nature.
We may be dependent on our position in the world, our economy, and our accomplishments. We may have sought what we can see and what we can feel with our hands and thoughts.
I believe that true humility is truly knowing who we are, what we can do, and what we cannot do. I hope that looking up to God will bring us low so that we can find His voice that is constantly speaking to us.
