Gospel Reflections #18: Jesus' Robe of Righteousness

Matthew 22:12 (The king) said to him, "Friend, why have you come in here without wedding clothes?" The man was speechless.

This is one of those parables that describe how people invited by God refuse to accept Jesus.

We can be clothed with Jesus' robe of righteousness by only believing and accepting His cross.

Through this robe of Jesus' righteousness, Heavenly Father sees us as in the righteousness of Jesus (God sees the righteousness of Jesus in us), and we can talk and commune with Him freely. This would be impossible without Jesus' robe of righteousness!

We don't have to work hard on our own. We only need to receive it by faith.

No matter how wonderful a robe we can make for ourselves, no matter how much we can resemble the robe of righteousness, it will not work at all in heaven.

All we can do is receive each one that Heaven gives us! All we have to do is believe, be thankful, and receive!

When we know what God gives us, we will want to seek and receive.(^o^)

When we know what Jesus is like, we will want to get closer and talk to Him!

We are the ones who are invited to the wedding feast. We are the ones who are invited to the wedding banquet, even though we don't deserve it!

Don't make excuses, justifications, or quibbles, but accept it honestly.

God wants and waits for you to do just that. God is doing His best to convince you every day.

(But even if we make delays, God will not give up on us, He will continually offer Jesus' robe until we accept it. This is His grace, He won't stop reaching you!)

(What God does, the provision (grace), is the very source of our thanksgiving and this can only be received freely and gladly. We can receive it with joy because God already has given it freely and no need for us to work harder to get it.)
