Matthew 1:21 "Mary will give birth to a son.Name him Jesus."
The name Jesus means "he himself will save his people." God created us. He created us by creating first what we need. When we chose to sin and Satan took us away, God did not condemn us, but declared war against Satan to get us back.
It was Jesus who made it happen. Jesus left His heavenly kingdom and His heavenly position and jumped into the world of sin. He was born not as God, but as a human being like us. There was only one thing for Him to do: fulfill His mission to die for us. And it was Jesus' joy to fulfill it. He longed to get us back and to live with us.
Why did Jesus long for such a thing? Because Jesus is love, and only love can save us. The concept of "the Lord who saves us from our sins" was not something people expected at the time. We may not understand this clearly either, but the more we learn about who God is, the more we are overwhelmed by His grand plan.
