Luke 22:19 This is My body, which is given for you.Do this as a memorial of Me."

Jesus and His disciples were at this Passover memorial meal. Here Jesus took bread and told them that instead of telling the usual Passover story, from now on they were to eat this as a memorial to Him. The even greater salvation to which the original Passover was pointing was about to take place.

This was the scene before Jesus went to the cross. Jesus offered his life for us. He taught us that He would live in those who accept Him. Those of us who have accepted Jesus are to remember what He has done for us personally every Sabbath, and to confirm the assurance of salvation that we have in Him. And through that confirmation, we are convinced of Jesus' promises and our hope is made clear.

The Sabbath connects the promises from Genesis to Revelation. By remembering what Jesus has done for us in the past, we too are assured of hope in future promises. And God continues to think of us and love us through more than we can remember.

We rejoice and share in that together on the Sabbath. Let us show our joy so boldly that it reaches to the heavens.

This Gospel Reflections page is written by Masae San, a devoted student of the Bible who passionately embraces the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We're sharing her message here so that you too can experience the joy that comes from the Gospel that has filled her heart.
