John 12:27 Now I am troubled in my heart. What shall I say?Shall I say, "Father, save me from this hour? But I have come for this very hour.

Jesus, who came to this world as a human being, is a human being who has the same weakness as we do (weakness means here the natural human emotions), so even He has times when His heart is troubled.

He knows His mission and so as us. Even so, our hearts still fret. Despite all the emotional troubles, Jesus prioritized our salvation over His own anxiety. Even Jesus needed time to be ready. Since Jesus was also vulnerable to God the Father, so we have the very opportunity to be bold enough to be vulnerable to God as well! We do not have to be strong. What we cannot do in any way, Jesus did for us.

Jesus chose sacrificial love to draw us to Himself. Jesus chose the path of obedience to die on our behalf and the power of love instead of coercion. It was not the nails that held Jesus to the cross, it was His love for us. When we know that love, it flows into us and moistens our parched hearts. Jesus knows our weaknesses and our ugliness and he loves us through and through. God is love!
