Gospel Reflections #138: God knows we need

Matthew 6:32 Your heavenly Father knows that all these things are necessary for you."

What are your needs? The "these things" in this verse are said in verse 31 to be things to eat, drink, and wear. These are the things God knows we need. We take great comfort in knowing that God knows all our needs and is ready to meet them.

God also knows the things that we should need but do not feel that we need. For example, forgiveness, healing, compassion, genuine love, hope, courage to face ourselves, honesty to accept ourselves as we are, willingness to abandon the old self, joy that comes from within, freedom from self-blame, power to turn to God...

We may not feel that we need these things because we substitute them for other things in this world, but we are indispensable.God reminds us of this in many ways. And so that we are not at a loss when we realize it, we are told in verse 33 to "seek God.

When we realize our real need, we can ask God for it. If we try hard on our own, we will only grow weary and depressed. God has prepared all our needs.He is waiting for us to ask for them. God is our Father. This means that we are God the Father's children.Yes, we are all God's children.Therefore, we can ask God willingly and boldly!Our Father is looking forward to it!
