Acts 8:39 "When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord took Philip away. The eunuch no longer saw Philip, but continued on his journey full of joy."

The Ethiopian eunuch was reading Isaiah 53 during his carriage ride. I am sure he was seeking more of God himself after learning about Jesus.

God does not leave such people alone. He gives them a helping hand. The eunuch met Philip, and knowing, accepting, and believing what God had done for him and who God was to him, he asked Philip to baptize him as a response and was baptized. After that, it says that the eunuch never saw Philip, but he continued his journey full of joy.

If there is any evidence that we have accepted Jesus or His salvation in our hearts, it is inner joy. Jesus works in our hearts. When we accept it, agree with it, and receive it, we are filled with joy and hope, even if nothing changes in our circumstances.

We may not be able to explain it well, and no one may understand us. Yet, it is only in His presence that we can be filled with joy. God enters our hearts if we only ask. No, He is waiting at the door of our hearts even before we ask!
