Gospel Reflections #135: He even knows the exact number of our hair

Matthew 10:30 "Even every hair of your head is counted."

Have you ever counted how many hair you have? Have you ever tried to count them? God knows things we don't know, and can't know about ourselves. After Jesus gave the warning of persecution, He showed us God's care and protection for us by expressing that He even knows the exact number of our hair.

In Luke 21:18, Jesus says, "Not a hair of your head shall ever be lost." God is not telling us to make sure our hair stays intact, or to make sure we never lose even one hair, but He is promising us that He will, it is His work.

And in this statement Jesus encourages us not to be afraid. Because God knows us and we are valuable to Him, He protects, guides, and encourages us. And He always gives us peace, hope, and joy.

The more we learn about who God is, the more we realize how much He cares about us and how much He does to encourage us. When we do, we are touched by God's extraordinary unconditional love, which has not changed at all since the time of creation. And we begin to experience our hearts being transformed by that love.
