Acts 19:26 "And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods."

When Paul preached the gospel in Ephesus, many amazing miracles took place, but there was also fierce opposition. The pagan Temple of Artemis was a very lucrative business and the economy was prospering because tourists were coming from all over. Paul denied them, and so the Ephesians plotted one plot after another against the gospel Paul was preaching.

God did not give up on reaching out to cultures, societies, and peoples that were hostile to the gospel. He provided Paul with the helping hand he needed. We, too, may encounter opposition and resistance when we share and manifest God's love, but we do not have to do anything on our own at all. At the cross, Jesus offers that there is an alternate reality we can focus on to look at, we can to look to God to confirm His promises and have confidence in them.

God will surely protect us, guide us, and prepare a way of escape. No matter how bad the situation looks in our eyes, if we know who God is, we can believe in His plan and entrust it to Him. We are weak and foolish, but God does not fail to hear our little cries. When we too seem to be swayed by the voices around us, let us look up to God and cry out our anxieties. God will turn that anxiety into confidence and hope. Our God is the Almighty Father!
