Acts 18:9 One night, the Lord said to Paul in a vision, "Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. Do not be silent."
Paul went to the synagogue every Sabbath day and strongly testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah whom they had longed for. But the Jews rebelled and continued to criticize Paul, so he left and fled to the house of a God-fearing man.
When Paul was discouraged, God encouraged him. He encouraged him, "Don't be afraid, for I am with you"; "Be bold for the sake of the gospel, for I am with you"; "The opposition will not prevail against you"; "For I know those who need you are right here.
Even when we are beset by anxiety and worry, or when things get bad, God is always there to encourage us. We are weak, but God is the strongest. We are timid, but God is able to do anything.
When God opens the way before us, He encourages us and pushes us out after He has prepared everything for us. And it is not we who do it, but God who is with us. We move forward with God, agreeing to His suggestions because of God.
Even if we don't agree with God's proposal and are on our way, God always accepts us and encourages us. And through God's love we learn that agreeing with God is the most peaceful and the quickest way to go.
