Mark 9:24 The father of the child immediately cried out, "I believe. Help me, who have no faith."
Parents have the uncanny ability to do anything for their children. This father also went to Jesus for his son and said, "If you can, have mercy on us and help us." This seems to be an expression of humility but Jesus recognized the weakness of the father's faith. And the father honestly admitted his unbelief. If he had pleaded for himself only, his pride would not have made him admit his unbelief when he was seen in his unbelief, and he might have just left. Because it was his son, the father admitted what he was and asked for help.
Since God is our Father, He cares about us as much, if not more, than this father did, and He put aside His pride (deserved honor and glory) and even gave His life to restore us.
When we believe in God, God's unlimited ability is demonstrated. Our faith is insufficient and imperfect, but the more we know who Jesus is and what He has done for us, the more we can be sure that He is more than worthy of our faith! And God will lead us to recognize us as we are and to naturally run to Jesus to believe in Him. Our Father is so so amazing!
