Luke 4:27 'And there were many in Israel in the days of Elisha the prophet who were afflicted with serious skin diseases, but none was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian."
Naaman was a Gentile. At a time when it was common practice to treat one's fellow man well, a Gentile was healed not because he was a preference but because of the mercy of God. Naaman was angry at Elisha's attitude and rebelled against what Elisha said, but Naaman's household believed Elisha and persuaded Naaman. And he was healed.
Naaman also complained that he did not want to enter the river because the water was dirty, but his companions of lower ranks persuaded him and he obeyed them. And he was healed.
We sometimes assume that if we don't do this or that, we will not be saved or healed. Jesus breaks every one of them. God loves and reaches out to all people, whether they believe in Him or not.
Even if you don't believe 100%, if you have just a little faith, God will work to save you. He is guiding us to believe and take a step forward even if things don't look good in front of us. God shatters our old common sense and shows us the new common sense of Jesus.
Naaman could only see himself. But when he turned to Jesus, he was able to act and experience healing. God knows all our suffering, pain, and sorrow.
So when you look up to God instead of looking at yourself, you will experience healing in God's hands. Because God loves you, loves you, and loves you through and through!
