Mark 8:27 Jesus... Philip - went out to the villages of the people in the region of Caesarea. On his way there, he said to his disciples, "Who do the people say that I am?

Seeing and knowing Jesus who went to many places, people said that He was "John the Baptist," "Elijah," or "one of the prophets. It occurred to me that the reason Jesus asked the disciples this was not because he was concerned about his reputation, but because he wanted them to be aware of who he was to each of them.

I believe that this was Jesus' greatest concern for the disciples so that their faith would not be shaken by what they were about to go through. If we are not able to clearly state who our God is, our faith will waver as our situation deteriorates. We are weak.

That is why I think it is important to clarify who God is and what He has done for me in our daily lives and in our Bible studies. I think it is important to know my God, not just our God.

God is always working to reveal Himself to us as well. As long as we accept that, we can know God. Let us relate to God today enough to speak boldly about our God and my God!
