1 Samuel 15:10 "The word of the Lord came to Samuel."

This verse marks a dramatic turning point, occurring immediately after Saul, Israel's first king, disobeyed God's command: "The word of the Lord came to Samuel."

The Old Testament records many messages from God.

Those who received God's word and faithfully conveyed it to the people were called 'prophets', while those shown future events were called 'seers'.

Samuel was both a 'seer' and a 'prophet'.

Though we do not hear God's voice directly, the Holy Spirit guides us continually.

Moreover, Scripture warns that false prophets will appear in the last days.

The key to avoiding deception lies in daily nurturing our relationship with God.

We are weak, foolish, easily distracted by the immediate, prone to repeating failures and mistakes. Yet we believe that when we truly need it, the Lord's word will come to us.

Even if we cannot understand everything, we wish to trust and entrust ourselves to the One who speaks to us.

Samuel was not a special person; he was a human being just like us.

If there is any difference, it is that Samuel remained utterly faithful to God.

Samuel is one example showing that we too can become like that, someone God can work with.
