1 Samuel 11:15 "Then all the people went to Gilgal, and there they made Saul king before the Lord."
Saul had previously been anointed by the prophet Samuel and chosen by lot, but some of the people still harbored doubts about him.
However, his dramatic victory over the Ammonites proved Saul's leadership.
The gathering at Gilgal signified the "coronation ceremony" where all Israel accepted Saul as their true leader.
This scripture records the moment when Saul's kingship was fully established through three elements: "God's guidance," "military victory," and "the people's consent."
From this point, Israel formally transitioned from the era of the judges to the era of kingship.
God's providence is not unilateral or arbitrary; He works so that those around Him may acknowledge it.
May we too, with humility, pursue God's will and play the harmony of God's family within it.
