1 Samuel 10:1 Samuel took the flask of oil, poured it on Saul's head, kissed him, and said, "The Lord has anointed you as leader over his chosen people."
By anointing him, Samuel conveyed that Saul had been appointed by the Lord.
Samuel anointed Saul, kissed him, and prophesied that three things would happen to prove Saul had been established as king by God.
This is the sign that God is with Saul.
When these signs occur, you must do what you can do. "Do what you can do" has also been translated as "Do whatever you can manage."
We may not experience being anointed, but the Holy Spirit is certainly at work.
When we sense this, it doesn't mean the Holy Spirit does everything for us; we must receive the Holy Spirit and take the first step in action guided by Him.
God's plan is fulfilled not just by saying "yes" to His call, but by putting into action what we can do.
Furthermore, it's not about avoiding what we cannot do; if it is God's call, we must trust in His power and promises and cling to Him.
Through this experience, we come to know more deeply that God is with us.
