1 Samuel 9:2 "He had a son named Saul, a handsome young man. There was no one in Israel as handsome as he, and he stood a head and shoulders above anyone else."
Humans often place value on things that are not important.
The people of Israel judged the king by his appearance.
Being tall and possessing a regal bearing were the most important points in their selection criteria.
We too sometimes fail to savor God's words in the Bible deeply, preferring instead the words of messengers that sound pleasant and agreeable, or being drawn to follow those who perform bold works.
God says, "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
We build our relationship with God not through our senses or emotions, but through faith.
Faith means believing in God's promises without wavering, even when they don't appear convincing to our eyes, and not changing our choice.
The inhabitants of the heavenly world are watching our journey, saved by Jesus' cross and resurrection.
Our way of life, our lifestyle, proves whether we are facing toward Jesus or not.
