1 Samuel 7:13 "The Philistines were subdued and did not invade the territory of Israel again. Throughout Samuel's lifetime, the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines."
As a result of Israel abandoning idolatry and returning to God, and Samuel offering prayers of intercession, God defeated the Philistines.
This passage states that this decisive victory brought an end to Philistine invasions.
It emphasizes that this peace came not from Israel's military strength, but from God's powerful intervention.
This reflects the theme that as long as Israel remains faithful to its covenant relationship with God, He will protect them.
Our God accepts and responds to our repentance, no matter how many times we turn back to Him, as long as that repentance is sincere.
Repentance is not merely confessing sin with sorrow; it is turning toward God.
And turning toward Him is not the end; it has no meaning unless we then draw near to God.
The more we understand what God has done for us, and how He endlessly forgives and guides us despite who we are, the more we become unable to leave His side.
