1 John 1:6  "If we say that we have fellowship with God, but walk in darkness, we are lying and not doing the truth."

John presents the conditions of fellowship between God and man in this letter.

We are free from sin by believing and accepting Jesus' atonement for our sins on the cross.

Therefore, if we believe, accept, and fellowship with Jesus, we should be full of joy in Him.

Just as Jesus is in the light, we are walking in the light if we are following Him.

But if we do not have the joy of salvation after believing in and accepting Jesus, then we are not walking in the light.

God has given us true life, life by God, through the cross and resurrection of Jesus. If we nurture it in Jesus' timing and way, it will become light.

But we don't know if this is the same as we imagine it to be.

God has prepared the best for us, and the Holy Spirit works through our honest acceptance of what He gives us and allows us to do.

We are handled and guided by God from within us and from our thoughts.

Light grows from within us, and if we focus only on the outside, we may only see darkness.

God is always telling us to look to Him who is the light.

Our actions are the result of the Holy Spirit working in us.
