Mark 15:13,14 “The crowd shouted again. 'Crucify him.' Pilate said. 'What evil have you done?' The crowd shouted more and more fiercely: 'Crucify Him!”

We do things in groups that we would hesitate to do if we were alone, but we do them with great vigour.

And when people deny or criticise what we are doing, we are more likely to show that we are right.

When this happens, only our own thoughts and assumed feelings rush through, rather than the right decisions.

They then become obsessed not with what is right, but with I am right, and exert themselves to have it recognised.

Even as Jesus was being crucified, the right voice was drowned out by the emotions of the multitude, and the power of human emotions, affected by sin, swallowed Him up.

Nevertheless, Jesus knew the effects of sin and suffered the greatest suffering for our lives.

Jesus chose not to react to His own emotions or to the emotions of the crowd, but only to be faithful and sincere in carrying out the plan of God the Heavenly Father.

Faith is not an emotion, but a choice.

When we look not to our thoughts, but to God's thoughts, He will guide our choices and work to enable us to carry them out.
