Jeremiah 18:3 "I went down to the potter's house. He was working with a potter's wheel."
Jeremiah was told by God, "Stand up and go down to the potter's house. There I will make you hear My words", so he did.
The potter took clay and shaped it as he liked, and what he didn't get right, he crushed and remoulded.
God said to Jeremiah: 'Can I not do to you as the potter did? You are in my hand." He said.
God does not make us do as He pleases.
He always wants our best.
It is only when we turn away from Him that He allows us to reap what we have sown and leads us to turn to Him.
Everything we are is in God's hands.
This does not mean that we are in God's control, but that wherever we go and whatever we do, He will find us, help us, guide us and meet our needs.
God's words in the Bible may be perceived as harsh, but they always come from God's great grace and unconditional love, in which He even takes responsibility for our choices.
God is able to remake us again and again, and He is able to perfect us.
We are placed here and now as God's work, which is being brought to completion.
It is not we who shape us, but God alone.
