Philippians 2:7 “He gave Himself up for nothing, and took on the status of a servant, and became like a human being."

Jesus came down to us, leaving all position and authority in heaven to fulfill the plan of salvation for mankind.

He came to earth as a human being like us, but rather than being our equal, he lived in a lower status.

Jesus was God.

He did not consider equality with God to be something to be adhered to, but humbled Himself and was obedient unto death, even death on a cross. This was for our salvation.

We cannot do what Jesus did, or even put away our evil hearts, even if we were to imitate Him.

But when we focus on how much Jesus has done for us, we can begin to desire to live even a little bit like Jesus.

Even as Christians, we tend to be self-protective and self-preserving.

Instead of lamenting and beating ourselves up about it, let's lean on Jesus who came for us.

No matter how much of a servant we are, Jesus is the one who sees the suffering and sorrow of each of us and comes to us.

We should respond to Jesus, not missing the chance to meet him.

Jesus, who became human, knows all the suffering we humans experience and accepts us as we are.

We are allowed to bask in his presence and be healed to our heart's content.

It is up to each of us to choose whether or not we will receive it and make full use of it.
