Micah5:2 "But you, Bethlehem-Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, a ruler over Israel will come forth for me from among you."

The prophet Micah prophesied the birth of the Messiah.

However, no one seemed to think this was the kind of buzz that would make everyone sit up and take notice and gossip.

This prophecy would have been a convincing prophecy of fulfilling God's plan of salvation for mankind, but the world did not accept it.

We each tend to have our own image of salvation, and we may feel a gap between the reality of God's salvation and our own image of salvation, which may prevent us from accepting God as He is.

And just as the Jews did not accept the crucified Saviour as their Saviour, we too may be pursuing an idol god.

Idols come from our thoughts and feelings, and we are to rely on God's promises rather than on our feelings, and not to be swayed by immediate events, but to be led to conviction, confirming who God is.

Our God is a God who came into the world to save us, who will pursue us until we return to Him, and who will never give up looking for us.

And when he finds us, he runs to us, embraces us and rejoices in us.

The more we know Him, the more we want to meet Him and the more we are led to action.
