John 6:38 “I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me."
The disciples and those who met Jesus wanted to be filled not with Jesus himself, but with the bread he would give them.
When Jesus said, "The bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."They said, "Lord, give us that bread always.
And Jesus told them, "I am the bread of life.
Sometimes we say "God" and focus only on His blessings.
We seek God, but we always want the "superiority" of the world's values.
In our many fellowships with God and in our deeper relationships with Him, we are reminded that we are caught up in the values, customs, and common sense of the world.
Jesus never wavered in his thoughts, no matter where he was or what the situation, but always kept his focus on the will of God the Father.
We cannot be like Jesus on our own, but we can have the desire to do so.
Even those thoughts are there because God is guiding us, but when we express our "I want to be like Jesus," God does His will in us.
We can boast of Jesus' greatness in our weakness.
