John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Generally, the relationship between Creator and creature is taken for granted as a hierarchical relationship, but our God is a God who treats us as friends.

He is a God who serves us.

We know such a God, but we sometimes behave like servants.

This is because we do not really know who God is.

We are influenced by sin and imbued with the values and customs of this world, and because we look at God with them, we often receive something different from what God really is.

The Bible is the letter of the gospel from God to us. From it, our trust in God grows as we become convinced of who He is.

We want to get to know Jesus more, fellowship with him more, talk to him more, share with him more, and get closer to him so that we can call him our friend.

Jesus has called us friends.

All that remains is what we call him.
