Luke 2:29,30 “Now, O Lord, let this servant go in peace, just as you have said. For I have seen your salvation with my own eyes."
Simeon had been shown by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he met the Savior whom the Lord would send.
And as Jesus' parents came in with Him, Simeon took Jesus in his arms and praised God, saying, "I have seen the Lord's salvation in my own eyes, and I have seen His salvation in my own eyes."
God is still speaking to us. He is still speaking to us and working to show us the fulfillment of the promises He is making to us.
How long did Simeon wait? Perhaps he waited so long that he was close to death.
Are we believing and waiting for God's promises?
How do we wait with faith?
When we focus only on reality, we seem to lose the ability to wait and trust God. It is only when we stop, become still, and be placed in God's presence that we can look up to Him and focus on Him.
The fulfillment of God's promises is not only His miracles, His blessings, and His grace, but through them He shows us that we are worthy to be entrusted to Him.
And God is faithful to work to deepen and strengthen our relationship of trust with Him.
