Gospel Reflections #564: The True Message is Lived not Said

Ezekiel 3:17 “Son of man, I will make you a watchman over the house of Israel. If you hear a word from my mouth, you shall warn them on my behalf."

Those called by Christ are spiritual guardians of those entrusted to them, says Ellen G. White.

We are told to be watchmen, which means that we are not to watch people and find out what is wrong with them and condemn or blame them for it, but to emulate Jesus' selfless service, serving all, serving all, building trust with people, telling them of danger, and leading them to safety. We are not to warn people with words.

We are not to warn people by our words, but by the way we live our lives we are to carry the Word of God.

It is not difficult for us to communicate something with words, but the communication is not complete until the other person receives it.

We express our lives as transformed by God, and only when our words are in harmony with what we say can we communicate to others, and only then can they receive.

Jesus' entire life was under the law of service.

Service is not living for oneself, but always serving others.

Watchfulness means being a protector, which means being a selfless servant.

We cannot do that, but we are led to be selfless servants by Jesus who surrounds us and works in us.

When we are connected to God daily, He meets our needs so that we can joyfully respond to whatever God calls us to do.
