1 John 2:1 "Even if we sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, the Righteous One, Jesus Christ."

Through Jesus' death on the cross, He bore the consequences of our sins.

Our "sin" is "living apart from God," and the consequences of that continued to affect Adam and Eve because they chose their own ideas over God.

Long before we sought help for it, Jesus took the consequences of our sin on our behalf, and He intercedes for our thoughts and actions due to the effects of our present sin.

Even though we have chosen God and are under His protection, we may not always be able to use our free will properly. We are that weak and affected by sin.

That is why Jesus is always by our side as our advocate against the mistakes, errors, and failures we make because of our weakness, ugliness, and immaturity due to our inadequacy and imperfection.

It may take courage to admit our weaknesses and mistakes, but it is what and whom we choose when we realize who we are that matters, not our focus on not sinning.

We do not become sinless by our own strength. That is why Jesus is indispensable and our hope.

Jesus is not looking to see if we sin or not, but is waiting for us to come back to Him at any moment, even if we sin!
