Matthew 22:14 “Many are invited, but few are chosen."

God invites everyone to His wedding banquet (salvation).

Those who are invited must attend the banquet (accept salvation) and put on the wedding clothes (obey God's will).

We hear, read, and study God's Word, but it does not end there.

How we put God first in our real lives depends on the choices we make.

To use the example of a wedding banquet, we may receive an invitation to God's wedding banquet, but miss the banquet because of our own personal circumstances, or we may attend the banquet but wear what we want to wear instead of the wedding clothes that are prepared for us.This means that our desire to believe in and follow God has not permeated our actions.

We are influenced by sin, and we are always self-centered.

The more we learn about God, who loves us and is willing to love us, the more we turn to Him.

God invites everyone.

How we respond to that invitation depends on the choice each of us makes. But even that choice is guided and protected by God.

God's love melts away our self-centeredness.
