John 1:11 “The Word came to his people, but they did not accept him."

Jesus came to this world as a human being, just like us, to fulfill God's declaration of war for our salvation.

But even those who followed Jesus did not accept Him.

This is because Jesus did not come in the way they expected.

We, too, sometimes say that we believe in Jesus and surrender to Him, but we cling to our own image of Him and do not accept Him.

Jesus does not abandon us but pours out his love and works on us to help us realize who we really are.

It is when we are shown our own ugliness and weakness, admit them, and then encounter things we cannot do anything about that we are forced to truly rely on and surrender to Jesus.

Even if we do not accept Jesus or can only partially accept Him, He continues to work to help us accept all of Him.

When we are touched by this, our eyes are opened and we see Jesus clearly, and we feel such joy and gratitude that we want to run to him.
