Revelation 3:11 “I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, lest anyone take away your crown of glory."
This is one of Jesus' words to the Philadelphia church.
The church in Philadelphia was an open door to the gospel. The reason for this is that "though they had little strength, they kept Jesus' words and did not deny his name.
The Bible prophesies that in the end times people will abandon the faith and apostatize.
The church has lost that power that it had when it was born.
Yet, Jesus praised the church in Philadelphia when He said, "Though they had little power.
He is saying that although they lacked a lot of power, that little bit of power is important.
Many people dislike this kind of steady spiritual walk.
They want some big event, some big occasion, some new teaching. However, it seems to be alive, but in fact it is dead.
The image of a Christian living in the end times is one that relies on the Lord and lives by His power, even if it is little, and is faithful, even if it is not something that stands out and leads many people to Christ.
It is far more important to show people a transformed life and life according to the Word of the Lord, right where you are, than to attend some Christian event in some hall.
Jesus said, "Hold fast to what you have.
What do we have?
It is the gospel that God has given us. It is God's love, forgiveness, mercy, and promises.
We rejoice in it, keeping it, waiting for Jesus to come for us.
This is the light and the hope of the world.
We can do nothing in our own strength, but our God is the One who can do nothing!
And Jesus has promised to come soon!
