John 18:36
“Jesus answered. My kingdom does not belong to the world. If my kingdom belonged to the world, my men would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But in fact, my kingdom does not belong to the world."
Jesus' Kingdom has a nature that is the opposite of the world.
And it is the character of Jesus.
In contrast to the world where pride is justified, Jesus showed humility.
Whereas the world is dominated by position and power, Jesus was a servant.
In a world where warfare is the norm, Jesus showed love and compassion.
We Christians sometimes have a hard time drawing boundaries in this world, even though we already belong to Christ.
Our mind belongs to the Kingdom of Jesus, but our body belongs to the world, as if there is a constant battle going on within us.
But once we become aware of this, all we have to do is ask Jesus for help.
Even though we live in this world, we do not belong to the world, but to Jesus in God's protection.
Even though we belong to Jesus while in this world, we are not exempt from the storms, typhoons, and vortexes of this world, but God will always work to make sure that we know that He is with us. Our God will never leave us alone.
