1 Thessalonians 3:12
"May the Lord fill you abundantly with love for one another and for all people, just as we also love you."
Paul wants us to love one another and to be filled with love.
Paul wants us to love one another and be filled with love, because that is the character of God, and Paul himself is one who has experienced that love of God.
We, too, need to be filled with God's love.
We cannot work in God's love unless we are filled with God's love.
We may think that we are doing good deeds or deeds of love by getting everyone around us involved, but this is only our own self-gratification.
Those who have experienced God's love and are filled with God's love will take the initiative to do in love, even if they are alone. Those who have experienced God's love and are filled with God's love will take the initiative to love, even if no one else notices or recognizes it.
And God unites their individual works.
Love cannot be kept to oneself.
Love flows out of the person who has known God's love.
It is guided by God's power, not our own.
God's love matures in us and in our works. God sustains the light of His love, no matter how small and feeble it may be.
And we can be transformed into the character of God's love.
Love willingly takes the initiative to serve and sacrifice for our neighbors, and love unites us!
