Luke 11:1 “Jesus was praying in a certain place. When the prayer was over, one of the disciples said to Jesus, "Lord, teach us to pray as John taught his disciples."
How did the disciples receive the sight of Jesus praying?
I am sure that the disciples felt their own lack of and immaturity in prayer as they pondered not so much the act of praying, but how to pray, to whom to pray, what to pray for, and so on.
Jesus prayed in relationship with God the Father.
Jesus' prayer is not a mere intercession or petition but a dialogue with God the Father in a relationship of immense trust and Jesus' total submission to God the Father.
Through Jesus' redemption, we too can pray boldly to God the Father.
That prayer is one in which we can let out all that is in our hearts, both the good and the bad.
There is no one else we can speak honestly and truthfully to, who accepts us as we are, and who works for our good but God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
Prayer is not a duty or a ritual for Christians, but a time of dialogue and conversation with God.
Our Father is always waiting for us to come near Him with open arms.
